MoJo is Mo and John.
John got hooked on NASCAR at seven or eight, when his mom introduced him to it. His passion for the sport grew over time, and he even spent a few years building and working on dirt cars. The team he worked with, Beichner Racing, enjoyed a good amount of success on the local dirt scene, winning dozens of feature events and several track championships. Twenty-five years on, he’s never stopped watching.
Melissa grew up in a family of big NASCAR fans. The floor in the kitchen of her childhood home was done in black and white tile to look like a checkered flag. Dale Earnhardt was the family’s hero; they watched his every race and bought every collectible be it flags, signs, cutlery, or diecast. With Earnhardt’s death in 2001, they stopped following the sport.
We met in 2020. Our first date was that year’s season opener at Lavonia Speedway, and we’ve followed racing together ever since. Then one day after re-watching a classic race, John pulled out his old collection of about 20 cars. Curious if they were worth anything, or otherwise notable, he began looking them up. This was his introduction to the depth and breadth of the diecast world. Melissa took interest as well. From there, it was off to the races.
How we run the shop
Every car gets photographed closely, described honestly, and packed like it’s going on our own shelf. If something isn’t right when it arrives, reach out and we’ll make it right.
